Practice Policies
- Swimmers are expected on deck and ready to swim AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START OF PRACTICE. This gives our coaches enough time to make important announcements, explain practice drills and connect with swimmers individually as needed.
- Swimmers are expected at all times to follow the directions and instructions of the coaching staff. A respectful attitude toward coaches and teammates is required.
- The goals of the RWST are to promote respect and sportsmanship, self-discipline and commitment. Therefore, abusive language, lying, stealing, and/or vandalism will not be tolerated.
- The coaches will keep order; if a swimmer is blatantly ignoring instruction and disrupting practice (uncooperative children and/or those with unsafe pool behavior), the offender will sit out the rest of practice for the first offense. The swimmer will be sent home for the second offense and the Head Coach, along with the parent, will determine the appropriate action.
- A responsible adult/guardian must accompany and stay with the swimmer(s) if 10 and under and if you have not signed the permission form required by the pool committee.
- We ask parent not be a distraction on the pool deck during practice. Coaches need their athletes' full attention during practice.
- Parents that need to speak with a coach, connect with them before or after practice, or contact them via email [email protected].
- Swimmers are not to miss their age group practice in order to have a private lesson.
- All swimmers are required to swim in their age group practice. No exceptions.
- 9/10 and 11/12 morning practices: Swimmers cannot stay after practice prior to the pool's official open at 10am. No loitering at the pool or parking lot.
