2024 Swim Season
Welcome (or welcome back) to the River Walk Shockwaves swim family! We are excited for the 2024 swim season!
Registration
Registration will open March 10th for both our Big team and Guppy team. There is no limit to the number of swimmers that can register for the Big team. There is a limit to the number of swimmers that we can accommodate on the Guppy team, so registration for the Guppy team will be on a first-come, first-serve basis (with RW residents having priority). Please see Guppy team requirements located under the Our Team menu. *Please note that late registrations will be accepted but team shirts may not be guaranteed.*
- To qualify to participate in Big team, swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool without any assistance.
- The Guppy team is the heart and future of our Big team! The Guppy program is for young swimmers who are preparing for, but may not be quite ready for, our Big team. Guppies will learn competitive swimming skills, sportsmanship and have fun in the water. Swimmers can move up from the Guppy team to the Big team as their skills improve and are able to swim independently the length of the pool.
- We will have assessments for 8 & unders prior to the start of our swim season. All new Big Team 8 & under swimmers will need to go through the assessment process. Guppies that participated in a Big Team meet last year do not need to undergo assessment.
- We will also be assessing the first few days of practices and if any swimmer cannot independently swim the length of the pool they will moved back to the Guppy team.

Volunteer Sign-ups
When you register, you will be able to sign up for your volunteer roles. YOU can sign up for a role that requires training even though you are not certified yet. The dates for trainings are under the Our Team Tab. Go to Volunteer Training under the drop down menu. We would like to have more people trained in all areas so you are able to shadow those who are already trained this summer and next summer.
